How Can Therapy Help You?

Therapy is about change - in all sorts of shapes and sizes. We seek out therapy because something isn't, or wasn't, OK - right?

Change

This can be about coming to terms with something that has happened. When you have your thoughts and feelings witnessed, something transformational happens, that allows you to place this experience into life in a way that sits better and be able to move focus to other things.

For many people a therapeutic relationship is their first experience of really being seen and understood.  Feeling that someone knows you, gets you, accepts you and can help you understand how you came to be you, is powerful.

The change can also be about noticing the patterns and dynamics that are influencing your life, that may be causing stress and distress. Coming to know and understand yourself better means you then have the choice - to more mindfully chose your existing path, or to identify new approaches to situations, people and to yourself, that leads to better wellbeing.

What happens in therapy?

Therapy is about us coming together in a space where you feel heard, understood and not judged, so that together we can explore the issues you are facing. We give time and space to your thoughts and feelings, learning about what is happening for you and what is causing you distress.
